We are always interested in exceptional people to join our nationwide Field Team.
The recruitment system is an on-going process. Prospective Field Staff must first complete a simple online stage-1 application. Our systems will then hold your details on file until we require more Field Team members in that area and then invite you to further your application.
This second stage will require further details of your skills, experience and preferences that for successful applicants will allow us to match your abilities to work available.
If you have experience within field marketing (Merchandising in particular) we would like you to send an email to us detailing this and we will take this into account when vacancies become available. Please send emails support@ukims.co.uk
The final stage of the process involves contacting IMS for a telephone interview where we will have the chance to assess your suitability and you will be given the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have.
We are looking for applicants who:
- Have regular Internet access (with a printer) and are computer literate - we are a web-based company so this essential.
- Are flexible to the type of work they are looking for - it is unlikely that you will be successful if you are solely looking for Mystery Shopping.
- Are reliable and self-motivated.
- Are willing and able to travel.
- Have relevant experience (this is not essential).
So who are the field team?
The IMS Field Team is made up of self-employed people who complete the field marketing activities on behalf of IMS clients. Many of our Field Team members will use field marketing as their main source of income, however a small percentage of members will use field marketing just as a flexible way to earn extra income in addition to their other full or part time commitments.
and what is field marketing?
Field Marketing is the provision of highly skilled and trained people to conduct brand-building exercises on behalf of a variety of clients. Each campaign is individually designed to meet the client's objectives. Staff are selected for their relevant skills and are trained and managed throughout the campaign, with IMS providing all of the infrastructure required to ensure completion of the client's specific goals and targets. The main disciplines encompassed by field marketing include:
This is the use of field marketing personnel as a client's sales team or to supplement their ongoing sales activities. We do not undertake work for our clients where the field team is paid purely on a commission only basis, however many of our sales activities include bonus schemes to provide incentive and reward our best sales people.
Merchandising involves the placement or re-positioning of either product or point-of-sale material, usually in a retail environment, to ensure the store complies with agreements made between client and retailer. Merchandising activity traditionally takes place in larger chains of supermarkets, shops and stores and is becoming an increasingly popular way for brand names to ensure standardised presentation of their products in all outlets.
Auditing and Data Capture
Field marketing personnel are used to audit products and services, recording information about: presence; facings; volume; point-of-sale material; positioning and/or relevance. As with merchandising, auditing often takes place in larger supermarkets, shops and stores and can be a valuable method for clients to gain a detailed national picture of their brand within the retail environment. Part of this discipline could include capturing photo images, so people with access to a digital camera have an advantage.
To carry out mystery shopping activity the field marketing personnel pose as 'normal' members of the public to assess sales levels, product knowledge, service-levels and customer satisfaction etc. Mystery shopping often forms an important part of staff motivation and training programmes and is used to independently to measure customer service standards across multiple branches or stores.
