Help stub out poor compliance with effective mystery shopping

On Sunday, July 1st, 2007 the new smokefree law was introduced in England. This law is designed to protect employees and the general public from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke. As a result of this law, managers of public houses now have legal responsibilities to prevent smoking and to ensure that no-smoking signs are displayed as required by the new law. Failure to comply with this new law is a criminal offence which can result in a fine of up to £2,500.

IMS provide intelligent mystery shopping services that enable you to check the compliance of your current public house outlets in relation to the new smokefree law. By identifying outlets that have compliance issues you may be able to prevent being the recipient of a number of costly fines. IMS can also check that the required smokefree signs have been sited compliantly throughout your outlets.

In addition to the above IMS can also bespoke your mystery shopping activity around other important customer service issues relevant to your industry. Some of the aspects we can check as part of our mystery shopping visits are as follows:

  • Challenger 21 compliance (Are your staff asking customers for identification if they appear to under the age of 21).
  • Customer service levels at the bar
  • Perfect serve compliance
  • Customer service levels when ordering food
  • The cleanliness of toilet facilities
  • Appearance and friendliness of staff
